Israel's combat veterans are a strategic national asset: leaders with extraordinary potential to thrive beyond their service. They need more than gratitude. They need structure, guidance, resilience, and real opportunities.

We are committed to removing barriers to participation. Our programs are free of charge, accessible across the country, and designed to fit participants' schedules.

Nationwide access. Practical tools. Long-term support.

About the Organization

A national initiative providing holistic support for combat soldiers, with the goal of preventing PTSD and strengthening the transition into civilian life.

Gav Lalohem supports discharged IDF combat soldiers, men and women, as they navigate a smooth and successful transition into civilian life.

The organization equips participants with essential life skills and empowers them to choose a clear, meaningful, and suitable career path.

Its programs are diverse and tailored to the realities of the modern world, integrating 21st-century skills, mentorship, technological innovation, targeted accelerators, and a strong alumni community with an ongoing support network.

Gav Lalohem was founded in response to a real and urgent need arising from the challenges many soldiers face immediately after completing their military service.

Our Approach

Gav Lalohem welcomes every combat veteran, regardless of the unit in which they served.

Our doors are open to all who served on the front lines and now seek support, direction, and a strong foundation for their civilian future.

Our Vision and Principles

We aim to establish the transition from military to civilian life as a recognized and critical
stage in Israeli society, one that requires a structured and comprehensive response.

Community Power

Building strong peer groups and leveraging the power of community to drive change.

Personalized Programs

Creating programs tailored to each participant's needs, goals, background, and pace.

Practical Knowledge

Teaching and sharing practical, real-world knowledge that helps veterans make informed choices.

What We Do

A holistic support framework that strengthens personal and mental
resilience while equipping veterans with practical tools for civilian success.

Since October 7

The events of October 7 created a new reality. Many of our staff, participants,
and alumni were called back to reserve duty, often under intense conditions.

We developed new programs and support systems,
including support for wounded soldiers, reservists,
and those dealing with the psychological and practical impacts of war.

Our Impact

Since 2019, Gav Lalohem has become a leading organization in
Israel supporting discharged combat soldiers.

NGO Gav Lalochem seeks US Diaspora support to aid reintegration of IDF combat veterans

Gav Lalochem is touring the United States to rally support from the American Jewish Diaspora in helping IDF veterans reintegrate into civilian life after serving in combat. The article details our programs in financial management, careers, academic studies, and the unit camaraderie that supports former soldiers, alongside the mentors who accompany them through every step.

As the organization put it, investing in this young population that sacrificed everything is "the most Zionist investment a Jew can make today" — because investing in the future of the State of Israel means investing in the people who will continue to defend and lead it.

Supporting Israel's combat
veterans is not only a moral
responsibility. It is a strategic
investment in Israel's future.

The strength of Israeli society the day after the war depends on the strength of those who defended it.
